MUAY THAI CLASH BETWEEN SHINJI SUZUKI AND STEFAN KORODI ADDED TO ONE FIGHT NIGHT 23

A hard-hitting bantamweight Muay Thai battle between Japanese star Shinji Suzuki and Irish upstart Stefan Korodi has been confirmed for ONE Fight Night 23: Buntan vs. Meksen on Prime Video.

The exciting strikers will square off in U.S. primetime on Friday, July 5, live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Suzuki earned his spot in the world’s largest martial arts organization last year when he won the Road to ONE: Japan tournament with back-to-back knockouts.

Although he got off to a shaky start with a loss to Suablack, the Fujimakick Muay Thai Gym representative bounced back with a victory over former ONE World Title challenger Han Zi Hao at ONE 166 on March 1.

Suzuki showcased his solid boxing skills in that contest by flooring his Chinese foe en route to a unanimous decision win.

Now boasting six victories from his last seven outings – with four of them coming via knockout – the 38-year-old hopes to keep his momentum going to work toward the division’s upper echelon.

For his part, Korodi debuted at ONE Fight Night 18 in January, also taking on Suablack.

The Thai had knocked out all four of his previous opponents in ONE, but Korodi gave him a scare by dropping him with a crunching right hand.

Suablack eventually rallied with a pair of knockdowns to take the win by unanimous decision, but the 30-year-old Irishman showed he has what it takes to hang with the best.

The matchup between Suzuki and Korodi will kick off a star-studded card on July 5, which is headlined by the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title clash between Jackie Buntan and Anissa Meksen.
